Sometimes I combine the practice of EFT and hypnotherapy with very good results. This can work great before and after the actual hypnotherapy part of the session.
I’ll use it before the session if the clients have any doubts, concerns or anxiety about the session itself and to help them release any expectations and nervousness. We can also tap to set the intention or goal for the session.
It is also helpful to use it after a session to help them clear any negative emotions, behaviours or symptoms that they have identified during the session. I’ll ask them to rate the intensity of any significant issue using the SUDS scale, and then I’ll do one or more rounds of tapping, until it gets to zero.
Also, as well as EMDR or EMIT, EFT can be used to treat trauma. Sometimes it’s so amazing that after the tapping they can no longer find that emotion when thinking about that event!
This tapping can also be used positively to ask the deepest highest part of the client for what they want or need or to experience positive emotions or behaviours.
It can also be used in combination with the Healing the Inner Child technique and also, in combination with Past Life regression therapy to heal and release intense emotions that are still affecting the client in this life in one way or another.
